About the Event

For so long Chef Jay has traveled the globe searching for flavors and cultural experiences that go beyond the bounds of tradition. He found one of his great passions in the study and blending of spices and herbs. He paired his passion for culinary wandering with a natural inclination toward philosophy and cultural strudies. This event is a beginning to the culmination of all of those things. To start, we will immerse ourselves in the culinary culture of Sudan, Ethiopia, Ghana, Senegal and Nigeria from a philosophical and intellectual point of view. The goal is to go beyond the commercialized version of these cultures and meet real people, real chefs and real academics who produce the culture and know the history!

Now for the first time, Chefs, food scientists, philosophers and historians will come together for a one of a kind event designed to educate and dazzle the all five senses. Please register and tell your friends and family they are welcome to register as well!
